Hunting Season 2026

Very fruitful year for hunting.



Elk hunt in the BC wilderness was late season, out of the rut and did not bring home the bull with the boys, but many good ideas were pitched!



Boy scouts is something we have lost touch with, so the church will put together a day for the men to get into the bush and make a fire, practice first aid, tie knots, find water, use a map, that kind of stuff.



This big buck was a tough pack out on steep and difficult terrain. It is always such a relieve bringing an animal home. Even though there is still a ton of work left processing, butchering, and packing.



My main goal with using a rifle was to compare the experience between a bow and rifle. I have had an arterial puncture wound before and almost hemmoraged out. There was no pain and very little shock. That is what bow hunting is like.... A gunshot is a very different story. The amount of energy on target is stunning and the ability of a well zeroed rifle to bridge a skill gap is astonishing.



I prefer bow hunting, and am looking forward to 2026 elk season to make it out with my bow.
